This Award is bestowed every year by AIBD recognizing the best in the design industry. Laine M. Jones Design won for a new 3200 Square foot custom residence in bucolic West Newbury, MA. The house was designed to reflect a Maine coast Shingle Style which the owner has fond memories of from his youth. Jogged floor plan with corner windows maximize the views of the rolling valley running parallel with the house. Other features adding to the feel are a covered porch, an eyebrow dormer, interior windows, window seats, coffered ceilings and period wainscoting. The different levels are anchored by a dramatically detailed stairway.
This award is the result of a blind competition judged by a prestigious panel of industry experts from entries across the country and abroad. Winners were announced in August 2001 at the association’s gala ceremony in Montreal, Canada
